The Morning That Changed Everything
It was one of those mornings that tests everything about who you are and what you value. I was the administrator of a bustling medical clinic, chasing structure and stability, but losing myself in the process. As a single mom of two, each morning had its challenges and then one day the rain forced me to face a deeper truth.
That morning, watching my sixth-grade son standing at the bus stop in a downpour, broke my heart. I cried all the way to work, realizing I had I'd chosen my job over my son, and I'd never be able to get that day back. That rainy morning forced my reset.
When Life Demands Realignment
Within weeks, I walked away from that job. Fear met me first—but peace followed not far behind. I didn't know what was next, but I knew what couldn't continue: neglecting my values in the name of survival.
Eight years passed before I returned to full-time work. In those years, I learned that my priorities matter—and being bold enough to put myself first wasn't selfish; it was the source of strength I needed to show up for others. Detours are uncomfortable, but they often deliver the directions our faith was too afraid to follow.
Discovering Purpose Through Pivot
My next chapter arrived disguised as uncertainty—overseeing a girls' group home. It wasn't part of any career plan, but it became one of the most divinely aligned experiences of my life. Through my work there, I was exposed to the world of mental health counseling and realized: transformation wasn't just possible—it was my calling to guide others through it.
That moment birthed the journey into coaching, ministry, and women's empowerment work that fuels my mission today. My detour revealed my destiny.
What Every Reset Teaches
The truth about transformation is this: your destiny rarely unfolds from comfort. It's revealed in disruption. When life forces a pivot, it's not punishment—it's preparation.
The clinic taught me structure. The group home taught me compassion. The rain taught me that what you're willing to sacrifice reveals what you actually value. Every stage was building the woman capable of leading others through their own reset.
Your Invitation to Reflect Ask yourself:
- What detour might be asking for your attention instead of your resistance?
- Where have you grown stronger because things didn’t go as planned?
- How might this season be your setup for purpose?
Your destiny is not behind you—it’s waiting for your obedience to the next step.
